All property owners have a duty to maintain their property in a reasonably safe way. If you were injured on property that belongs to someone else, you may have a right to make a claim against the property owner if he or she failed to meet the standard of care required. In the state of Florida, the property owner’s standard of care depends on whether the entrant on the property is a business invitee, a licensee, a trespasser, or a child. Landowners owe the highest degree of care to a business invitee, and the lowest standard of care to a trespasser. If you slipped and fell or suffered some other type of injury while on someone else’s property, we would like to hear from you.
